Hey there folks, just wanted to drop by and ask a few questions. This is my second post (posted first on the linux guide).
I've been playing Custom Maid for the past week, though the incredible boners this game gave me so far, I too am looking for some variation.

First of all, I've been playing on my Win7 notebook, which surprisingly runs the game at a good performance. I've been trying to get this to work on my more powerful linux machine however.
A few notes: I can get proper locale and install base game and patches ok, the HF patch doesn't work properly and has several errors.
But copying the whole thing over from the notebook install actually works ok, the game opens without error and with translation, but clicking the buttons to start game does nothing, it doesn't crash or anything, just doesn't start... Anyone experienced this yet?

Another question about some of HF patch options, why isn't there an example of each uncensor so the user can choose sensibly? I've tried the recommended, the heroine 4 3d ones, and the 5 V3D. Now this last one presents a very pretty private parts, with anus included, well textured, but it isn't 3d, what the V3D options means? The 3D ones are pretty cool too, there are some options to the openness of the vagina, anus is clipped though, and a lot of actions seem to be misaligned. The additional skins are also cool, though some are really weird, 3d in this case only means a bit of shades to the body curves, in the actual texture right?

Lastly, I've made a comparison of my second maid with the first one. I found that actually just doing standard stuff, take off to increase reason, repeat, without ever cumming, is better way to levelling up. My second maid has already passed the first one in rank and is still about 12 encounters shorter.
The skills too, there are way too redundant skills, and the levelling system a bit incoherent. By the way, there are no way change one's personality right? so it doesn't really matter if you treat your maid as public cum dump, customer toy or a masochist? (sorry for the names, but I'm very hentai)
Oh and finally, one last question, how to pass the maid exhibition tests? other maids with way lower level and skills and still can't get even close to enough points.

Umm, I can't help much with the Linux issues but for the skills and personality, your maids personality and her state are different, but neither can be changed once locked in. So you can choose an Innocent maid and depending on her highest stat by your 42nd encounter she can either become Horny, Masochistic, or Obedient. All this does though is change her dialogue when entering a room and maybe some of her dialogue during sex. So you can have an Innocent Maid become horny (slutty, lustful, etc), a Sadistic Maid become a Masochist, etc. The wiki needs to be updated a bit since it still contains information from when you could change your maids personality. That was removed for reasons I guess.

TLR, You can't change your maids personality, but you can change her state (between 3 states) until your 41-42nd encounter.

For the maid exhibition tests, you need some relatively level'd skills to make things easier on yourself. Find skills with high stat pay outs and get those skills to like lvl 3 or 4, maybe less. Higher level'd skills will give you more points. I used lvl 2-3 cowgirl for like every single maid competition, iirc. Guaranteed method is to get a skill you like to highish levels and just ride that to victory.

I've read about many failed attempts to get 3D H games to run on Linux, but not this one in particular. You might get it to work, but then the graphics might show horrible distortions. Which emulator are you using? btw, the HF Patch requires .NET 4 (because of VAC Injector) if that helps on the crashes.

The HF Patch is made with Inno Setup and it doesn't support showing images (not natively at least). Even if it could, all the options in the CM3D HF Patch is stretching it a lot from the original purpose. The HF Patch was never meant to be a mod selector, but instead a basic patch that would translate and uncensor the game (and maybe include a few other essentials). The basic design idea is that it should be a starting point helping ppl to be able to play the game with the latest translations and full uncensor (and stem the tide of repetitive posts asking the same questions, like how to drag and drop and so on).
The CM3D HF Patch ended up the way it is now because of:

1. Menelol did a heck of a job consolidating a lot of uncensor mods and he asked me to include them all.
2. Installing CM3D uncensors manually is tedious because they affect dozens of .vac files.
3. The game is at the end of the road and we don't expect to make many more patch releases.

tl;dr: What you want is a mod manager (like e.g. Illusion Wizzard) but that's not (and will never be) the purpose of patch. To get a preview of what's included in the patch you should follow the links in the patch release post (linked from the patch).

Nope. Also 161 skills are enough to play the game decently.

I don't official support Linux, I developed VAC Manager to be runned under Windows machines. Also as Inquisitor just said it requires .NET Framework 4.0, this may be the cause of all your problems!

V3D = Vagina 3D, it means it has unique meshes for vagina!

If you want to know exactly what any uncensor does, download my Ultimate Uncensor R4.1 and view all the previews inside it. There are previews for everything my ultimate uncensor has, so it can definetely help you to understand what you are gonna to install!

That's useful info, it might work, does it need to be .net 4 or may a previous version like 3.5 work?
Reason is, I remember .4 being reported not working some time ago, but 3.5 works and is an easy install.
But still, copying over the whole thing over is enough, but this issue of not start the game is quite obscure. (could probably have ridiculous fix as well)

Sorry, but I did understand this, what I've meant is I've searched the thread, followed the links, and even tried a variety of custom searches and came up with nothing.
I've guess even a quick explanation in each item (in the mod's post) would be enough. Didn't know the exclusive installer did have examples.
Can I still use the uncensor to change things up after having already used the HF patch?
One issue I've found is that I'm unable to remove the heroine 4 3d vags, so if for some reason I change the uncensor, I have to build the character again from a clean template (cannot clean the saved presets).

Sorry for asking too much, its just like I like to research, dig in deep and learn about stuff.

Ya, after the 41st encounter, Maid state is locked in. You can make as more maids though and get just about every combination of personality and state. Having different maids specialized in different skills is a good way to do this.

Yes, but better just run the HF Patch again and select the one you prefer. Installing it manually is tedious and prone to errors.

This is because the template uses plugins that are no longer functional because you changed the uncensor. Some of the uncensors come with several plugins. The HF Patch won't uninstall stuff, so if you have plugins from a previous installation they will not be removed. It's a known issue described in the release post and in the patch itself (the pages with information text). It's not something I have any intention of looking into.

Actually I've meant that the vag can't be removed once place, like other normal choices, even while the heroine 4 is still the current installed choice.
