Restart in safe mode then install drivers for you GPU from disc or downloaded exe, that's all I can suggest.

Maybe I should start another thread about my issues... since I haven't bought Win7 Yet... (tho soon, since my laptop is breaking down...)

Anyways... I went to check which driver I need...
And guess what I found...

The System Restore did not only reset my folder view, MS word document, but it also reseted my Graphic Driver...

It's driver got rolled back to 6/21/2006
Which kinda also proved my post a while back when I said I got this laptop 3-4 years ago... (11/2009 - 6/2006 = 3 years + 5 month) Knew I didn't remember it wrong...

Anyways... Gonna go any see if I can update or find a newer and correct Graphic Driver... cause right now... I can't watch any videos (animes >_<)

o wait... or was this one the driver... which one is the driver I am suppose to update?

Also... 11/17 is my birthday (today)... but since my father went on his business trip to china and my bro got work... and I got no friends since I didn't go to school as they cutted me off... well now... my laptop won't let me watch anime or read manga, as anything that have to do with a lot of graphics, can't do...
I think I'll just sit here lonely rocking back and forth...

Not exactly sure... but... I downloaded a 8/19/2009 version driver...
But I donno if it actually installed or not... cause when ever I tried to open the driver properties... it says something about a mis-install and incorrect version model...

But the weird thing is... I can still use my laptop and I even tried and watch anime and read manga for a while, no problem have come up yet... (but can't be totally sure it won't come up)

Should I try and restart my computer? (donno if it'll blow up in my face after tho...)

Usually it's the GPU that requires driver updates, monitors rarely need any. And of course they will be reverted by System Restore, all system changes are.

I see... well this was the first time I've ever used System Restore... so I donno much about how it functions >_<

Thought it just restores the system back to when it was working before it broke, didn't know it'll revert all system changes back to the beginning. (guess that counts in my folder view too...)

Zomg... the System Restore corrupted some of my video files... >_<
Now I have to re-torrent DL bunch of video files...

Why I think it's system restore? cause my video files isn't broken before I used System Restore, but is broken after I used System Restore...


I am soooo never using System Restore ever again... Otase is right... System Restore messed up your OS rather than fixing it...

I never used system restore, i will warn again that will mess up your OS in causing more issues only or slowdown more your OS with pointless trash probably.

Anyways Windows 7 doesnt install my camera altough i never used camera much anyways... doesnt install some 2 other devices, it forces my Laptop Monitor to 59hz isntead of 60hz i use on XP, Drivers of Audio is a third party, Graphic Driver i dunno if its good or not, as for watching other good encoded videos, it seems to filcker image sometimes, what i mean is... sometimes might not be able to follow VSync at all, eitheir forcing it and with tripple bufering it still hapens.

My point of view in Windows 7 is... unless its quite a good video card that suports the default directx this OS is using (directx10 or 11, dunno now) it can degrade performance in Sync frames to monitor on some Laptops.

Win7 + nvidia drivers works perfectly fine with all my PCs, ranging from a Geforce 2 to a geforce 8600m GT.

And 59/60 hz is normal for LCD/TFT screen. If you see a 1hz difference then you're being paranoid.

And in your case, you should probably do a clean install of whichever OS you decide to use. It seems like too many things got messed up.

There's a restore point created that can undo your last change unless you used System Restore in safe mode... Do that to see if it REALLY is System Restore that did it, backup vids to a flash drive and try again. I've probably used it nearly 20 times in the past few months, nothing broke, no speed decrease, no nothing


Do remember to clear restore points once in a while if your system is stable though... It quickly gobbles up your HDD space especially if you've been installing/uninstalling very large games.
