No More Hentai Manga for Canadians!

Well I've been ordering some hentai manga online for a while now. Just recently I got an email informing me that my order was canceled. The reason given was that they themselves had just gotten a letter from Canada customs informing them that hentai manga (or if you read the link below any manga) is no longer allowed through the border.

So now I can no longer actually buy any it seems, any one else in the same position as I am? Also for people in other countries how is this handled? Does customs give you problems as well?

And not hentai material only, "seinen" manga and novels are also possible targets to be blocked, even only the illustrations look suspicious...
But fortunately not all shops are having the same policy. Customers may need to find some smaller online stores, with a certain risk.

Scared a bit to order online now actually. Going to order a visual fanbook and see what happens.

Don't see why I'm being treated as some sort of criminal. Was just reading about one person that was arrested and had all his items (manga, PCs, dvds, etc) taken in by the government.

Pfft, ever tried importing a hentai game? I have to have a friend on the other side send them to me in a fake sealed package so they won't open my stuff before I do.

It's just unbelievable when novels and such precious come in a dirty packaging that the custom officials use after they rip apart the original package in which they were sent (hell the cover of my One Day illustration story book for HanTsuki came ripped on an edge!). The fact that they demand money for doing it doesn't help improve their image...

Forgot to mention that before the actually seized some of my packages and sent me a letter saying that if I wanted them I'd have to prove they weren't obscene otherwise they'd be destroyed.

I don't want to say how much money I lost there.

in america certain packages are intercepted as well, mostly suspicious ones from backwater countries...

Actually, I've had much better luck importing games. Many years ago, orders would go through and arrive in a timely fashion. But any printed materials would get held up for weeks, as they were paged through for forbidden content.

My guess is that they had no way to verify the content of a game beyond the box cover.

While I never had anything seized, it's still off-putting having your parcels opened and filtered through. I haven't imported anything for the longest time now.
